Stuart Hawkins in December Benefit for WFMU
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008
Stuart Hawkins, who rounds out QPCA’s Video Trifecta next month with “The Naturalist,” joins a stellar roster of artists in supporting one of New York’s most indispensable voices next month. From December 6-13, Printed Matter is hosting a benefit show for legendary, fiercely independent radio station, WFMU. “The show’s line-up, much the like the station’s programming,” writes WFMU, “is decidedly freeform with a mix of well established and emerging artists as well as a wide variety of mediums represented including drawing, painting, photography, print and collage. Many of the pieces in the show are new works that have been created especially for this benefit.” In addition to Hawkins, the benefit includes pieces by the likes of Olaf Bruening, Mitch Epstein, Mike Kelley, Richard Prince, and Cindy Sherman.
