Holly Andres’ Nora Takes Prize at Baltimore Film Fest
Congratulations goes out to Holly Andres, whose short film, Nora (2007), recently screened at the Baltimore Women’s Film Festival. Made in collaboration with Grace Carter, Nora is a smart and stylish riff on domination, gender, and erotic suspense that highlights Andres’ talents as a director of photography for moving as well as still imagery. The Film Fest jury appears to think so, too: They sent Nora home with the prize for Best Cinematography in a Short Film.
Andres can also be found in Washington DC’s FotoWeek, which is currently underway. As is customary with citywide celebrations of photography, DC’s Honfleur Gallery established a satellite exhibition space at the ARCH Business Center (1227 Good Hope), where Andres’ photos will be on view through Saturday, Nov 22. Sparrow Lane, Andres’ solo exhibition at Robert Mann Gallery in New York, continues through Dec 6.
